According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, all Canadians will be affected by mental health problems at some point in their lives, either through personal experience or through the diagnosis of a relative or friend. In fact, one in five Canadians faces a mental health problem every year.

While these statistics may be new to you, the sense of urgency they convey is probably familiar. Mental health issues are increasingly prevalent within our society. Perhaps you are looking for ways to support a loved one, or perhaps you are in search of answers for yourself. Either way, you want to better understand the complex dynamics of mental health. There is more to it than just understanding, however. As Christians, we want to discover the role of faith in mental health and hear what God, Scripture, and Church have to say in light of the unique challenges and experiences of mental health problems. ClearView will be using The Sanctuary Course as it was designed to assist in this process of discovery. To take a sneak peak of the course, please CLICK HERE You will need to create an account - but all the content is FREE!

Each week - November 11, 18, 25 & December 9 and 16, we will gather from 7:00 - 8:15 pm in the worship center to watch a 10-12 minute video on a topic pertaining to mental health. We will then break out into small groups for discussion. Our hope and prayer is that this course will help raise awareness and start conversations about mental health in the Church. The combination of clinical research, theological practice and lived experience will help us reframe our views on this very prevalent topic.

*This course and films address difficult and sensitive topics, and may not be appropriate for a young audience. Parental guidance is advised.
