Listen With Care
The God who speaks the universe into being is also the God who bends his ear to hear his people. In Exodus 3, God tells Moses that he has seen the misery of Israel and heard their cry, and that he has come down to rescue them because he remembers his covenant. That hearing leads to action: God draws near, enters their suffering, and sends Moses as part of his answer. As people made in God’s image and called to bless our neighbours, we reflect his heart when we are “quick to listen, slow to speak” (James 1:19) and pay patient, curious, unhurried attention to the stories of the people around us.
