Genesis: The Backstory – The Flood
We’ve lingered over the first four chapters of Genesis, but now we’re handling four chapters in one Sunday! It’s the story of the Flood in Genesis 6 - 9 (please read through these chapters ahead of time as we’ll only be reading selections from it Sunday morning). We don’t make it 6 chapters into the biblical story and God despairs of the violence of his creations. What do we make of this story? Why did the flood happen? What does this reveal about God’s character? Can judgment itself be a grace? And what does it say for us today?
