Reconciliation and the Housing Crisis

Pastor:
Passage: Mark 1:1-15

Access to affordable housing is becoming more and more difficult. Subsidized housing waitlists are years long, real estate inventories are low and rental and purchase prices are high and seem to be getting higher. How does the church and individual Christians, act as Ambassador of Reconciliation within this complex issue? This week we welcome Jeff Neven to share the good news of hope and challenge us to repent and believe.

Jeff Neven serves as the CEO of Indwell, a Christian charity that creates affordable housing communities that support people seeking health, wellness, and belonging. Over the past 20 years, Indwell has grown from supporting just seven tenants to providing homes and supports for 700 people with over 760 units under construction/development. Jeff is an established community leader, actively involved in youth neighbourhood engagement, active transportation, homelessness prevention, and his local church. He and his wife Maria and their four children live in east Hamilton.

We will also have a special presentation of quilts by The Father's Art Quilters. The ministry of ClearView Church has been working very hard to make a quilt for every bed in the new Indwell building in Port Credit that will be opening up this Winter. Some of the quilters will share their
story and we will be given an opportunity to pray over the quilts before they go to their new home at Indwell.
