For many the idea of “confessing your sins” seems a pretty negative, awful experience - why would you want to focus on all that’s gone wrong? But what if its the most healing practice, both individually and communally? We live in a culture of spin where we live on the surface and we’re not good at telling the truth about ourselves and so we end up hiding parts of our broken selves from others - which only ends up isolating us from one another. The practice of confession is one of honest awareness, the invitation to be vulnerable, to find wholeness.
