The Scattered Church

Passage: Acts 6:8-15, Acts 8:1-8

In a surprising turn, the first church in Jerusalem is forced to escape persecution and flees to various places for safety. Philip is led to the town of Samaria, a traditionally hostile place for Jews, yet he and the gospel message he brings are warmly welcomed. The Holy Spirit's plan to see the gospel go to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8) is being realized.
