This Sunday at ClearView: this Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent, the four week season preparing us for Christmas. At ClearView we begin a series called You Belong, in which we will be poking around the family tree of Jesus, focusing on the four women in Jesus’ genealogy, the great-grandmothers of our Saviour. And It’s a messy family history, sharing the brokenness that has marked human history, and that which we find in our own families. But it also points to why Jesus came - from a broken family line to heal and restore broken lives. Christmas tells us it’s not about how good we are, but about how loved we are. Even the broken find a place to belong in God’s family. This week read the story of Tamar in Genesis 38.
