Friendship Sunday: God Gives Us Helpers

Pastor:
Passage: Galatians 6:2

Life always includes burdens—emotional, physical, and spiritual—that can weigh us down. God’s design for the church is that we don’t carry those loads alone. Galatians 6:1–5 teaches that bearing one another’s burdens fulfills “the law of Christ,” the pattern of self-giving love shown by Jesus, who carried our greatest burden to set us free. Helping others means drawing close, listening deeply, and letting some of their weight rest on our shoulders. In doing so, we embody Christ’s love and discover that some burdens can even become good gifts that form us into compassionate people.
