Waiting on the Spirit
Acts 1:1–11 shows that the global, world-changing movement of Christianity began not with human strategy but with the risen Jesus working through ordinary people. Jesus calls his followers – then and now – to be witnesses from their own neighbourhood to the ends of the earth, not through political influence or human strategy, but through the charismatic power of God’s Spirit. The Spirit brings a new kind of power; not political or positional, but internal and transformative. We are invited into the ongoing story of Acts, through obedience to Jesus and devoted prayer, asking the Father to clothe us with power we do not possess on our own.
